Celebrating Women in Public Health:

Honoring Our Leaders and Interns at Common Good Community

March is Women’s History Month, a time to recognize the invaluable contributions of women in shaping our communities, especially in public health and community care. At Common Good Community, women are at the forefront of our work—leading, advocating, and supporting those in need.

Our Executive Director, Becky Honig, and Coordinated Care Companions play a pivotal role in bridging gaps in healthcare access, ensuring that individuals and families receive the care and resources they deserve. Their commitment embodies the very essence of community health work—compassion, resilience, and action.

This month, we’re highlighting two remarkable interns who represent the future of public health and social care:

Mya Rishworth
Mya is a fourth-year student at Sacramento State, preparing to graduate this spring with a degree in Public Health, concentrating in Community Health Education. She believes in the power of service and is always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. Mya’s dedication to strengthening community well-being makes her a vital part of our mission at Common Good Community.

Angelina Triana
A third-year psychology major at UC Davis, Angelina brings a wealth of experience from her work in social services, including a women’s shelter and applied behavior analysis. Now interning with us, she is passionate about connecting individuals with the resources they need to lead fulfilling lives. Her empathy and drive make her a valued member of our team.

Women have long been the backbone of public health and community care, from advocating for social change to delivering hands-on support. This month, and every month, we honor the women of Common Good Community—past, present, and future—who dedicate themselves to building healthier, more equitable communities.
